Foster Parents Celebrated at Foster Appreciation Night

On Friday evening, local foster parents were treated to a much-deserved Friday night out while system partners provided childcare. The Foster Parent Appreciation Committee, which is made up of licensing partners from Florida Baptist, CHS, Boys Town, BBCBC, Camelot, and Children’s Medical Services, helped put on the event. Capital City Christian Church was kind enough to allow us to use their facility.  It was an enjoyable evening with a petting zoo from Joyful Noise Family Farm, a bounce house from Jumping Jacks, gift baskets donated and created by various system partners from local agencies, and a gift card raffle where 15 parents received gift cards for activities and restaurants around town.

Tenile Taylor, our Quality Parenting Specialist who helped organize the event, said that it “was an opportunity for system partners to show our local foster community how much we appreciate all they do for the children and families we serve. Our system cannot meet the needs of our community without the families that step up to provide love and care for children and families in need. We are also thankful to all parties that donated items or their time to help make this event a success!”

Thank you to everyone who helped put on this wonderful evening to show our appreciation for our foster parents.
